Nick Dreyer
Nick Dreyer joins the program as the first Head Coach of the newly rebranded Provo Predators.
In Dreyer's first season with the Ogden Mustangs (2020-21), he led an impressive Penalty Kill unit (84.1% | 9th overall) in the USPHL Premier and displayed consistency with his special teams' group in his second season (83.8% | 1st in Mountain Division). His defensive core has seen the most Div. III commits from the program in the past two seasons.
Dreyer was a staple in the Park City Ice Miners program as the Head Coach of the U16 Boys team (2017-2020). During his tenure with the Ice Miners, his team was crowned as the Utah State Champions for three consecutive seasons. In 2017, his team lost the National Championship game and finished second at the Tier II level. Dreyer has also served as Head Coach of the Farmington High School Hockey Program since its inception in 2018-19. In the few seasons of the program's history, Dreyer has led the team to a 3rd-place finish in 2019 and 2nd-place in 2020.
Dreyer is a native of Waterloo, Illinois, and grew up in the greater St. Louis area. His coaching career began in 2013 at his former high school (Waterloo-Freeburg) where he was named the Head Coach and served until 2017. During the 2017 season, Dreyer led Waterloo-Freeburg to a State Championship appearance and finished in 2nd place.

Jared Bussell
Joining the Provo Predators coaching staff is Jared Bussell.

Bussell started his coaching career in 2017-2018, serving as an assistant coach and goalie coach with former BYU Cougars Head Coach, Dave Pitcher where they led the Copper Hills Grizzlies to an undefeated state championship season. From 2018-2020, he served as an assistant coach and goalie coach for the Utah Valley University Wolverines alongside head coach Darin Peck. During the 2021-2022 season, Jared served as an assistant coach and goalie coach for the BYU Cougars. He was also the head coach for the Utah Golden Eagles 16U Travel team where he led the Golden Eagles to the AZ Coyote Cup Tournament Championship.
During his short stint at Copper Hills, Bussell was named as the USA Hockey Goaltending Development Coordinator for the state of Utah where he still currently serves. Bussell also serves in other capacities within USA Hockey as an evaluator for the Utah State Camp, USA Hockey Southeast District Evaluator, and was selected as a goalie coach and evaluator for the 2019 Girls 15’s National Camp.
Born and raised in Orono, Maine, Bussell grew up and developed through the Orono youth programs that eventually led to playing high school hockey for the Orono Red Riots. Coached by former UMaine Black Bear goalies Greg Hirsch and Blair Marsh, Bussell helped the team to multiple successful seasons, as a sophomore leading his team to the Eastern Maine championship game, and as a senior helped his team to a number one overall seeding, as well as won the Eastern Maine Class B Goaltender of the Year and was selected to the state All-Star game.
In 2008, after several short junior stints, Bussell played for the Utah Valley University Wolverines for half a season before deciding to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. His mission was served in Birmingham, England from 2010-2012. Upon returning home to Utah, he joined the Brigham Young University Cougars in 2013 where he helped the team reclaim their identity and return to their winning ways.
Bussell is married to his beautiful wife of 7 years, Kylie, and together they have 3 children, Lily, Hobey, and Bodi.

Ryan Wirth
Ryan joins the Predators after completing his junior hockey career right here in Provo. Originally from Indiana, Ryan played in the United States, Canada and Europe before finding his way to Utah for the final two seasons of his career.
